Neenah (Ngāpuhi) is a Māori / Dutch artist born in Raglan, Aotearoa. She grew up around the Waikato before moving with her family to Te Whanganui-a-tara when she was 9-years old.

Neenah took some time adjusting to the city life, while the kids of Ngaio school adjusted to her turtle-necks and denim-on-denim, no shoes and un-brushed hair. Neenah’s been making art in the backyard and on the living room floor from Raglan to Welly for all twenty something years she’s been living.

She started making it professionally as an actor and has played many roles within the theatre over the last decade. Right now, the focus is rewriting those roles. Renaming. Reclaiming. Reconstructing.
